Constructs
Constructs are the theoretical foundations of Impact Up – the thinking tools our work has grown from. We call them constructs because they are constructed – by us and by others – to see and discuss impact relationships. Every description of the world is a construction – and good constructions make working together possible: they give everyone involved a language for what is at work between them. The important content only emerges from collaboration – and with our constructs we build on it. Exchange about the constructs is always welcome: write to us. Here, to begin with, a few starting points for us:
Impact Up Philosophy
An impact in society does not stand on its own. The interplay of the many impacts is what brought Impact Up into being: finding the right theories and bringing them into exchange with practice; bringing the people who want to get involved and shape projects into many good exchanges. Listening, trust and connecting as a starting point – but with the field in view, society in view, so that impacts together become more than their sum.

02Systemic Impact Orientation
From the single impact to effect across the whole field. Thinking “systemic” and “impact orientation” as something connected is new. And we want to try it, because for now we like both directions we find in it: orienting towards impact that changes the system itself – and shaping impact orientation with a systemic stance.

03Systems Change
An approach to social change with a systemic claim – already largely established in the English-speaking world. From our perspective, one of the most promising approaches for systemic impact orientation. Working as close as possible in the field, with the people; networks as a strong foundation; trust and learning from one another: Systems Change sets the priorities this world needs.
